VILLAGERS who cleared their brook of weeds to prevent flooding have been applauded.
The Hanneys Flood Group was presented with the award for 'The best example of community action to reduce flood risk' at a ceremony organised by the Environment Agency and Witney MP David Cameron.
Last night's event at Langdale Hall in Witney was organised to honour the work of individuals and communities to stop rising flood water in the county and elsewhere in the Thames Valley.
