SAM Thomas, bar manager at The Boat Inn, Thrupp, said one of his members of staff was having a smoke outside when he heard the noise of a plane crashing near Bladon this afternoon.
Mr Thomas said: "He heard the engine cut out and 30 seconds later he heard a bang.
"You could definitely hear it. He came in and said a plane just crashed, then a few minutes later we could hear all the sirens rushing around and the air crash siren."
South Central Ambulance Service has confirmed two people died in the crash.
