A 16-year-old girl was assaulted while walking home along Curbridge Road in Witney.
The girl was approached by a man who asked if he could walk with her and put his arm around the girl just before midnight on Friday, police said today.
As they approached Tower Hill Cemetery the man grabbed the girl and took her into the graveyard before throwing her to the floor.
Dc Paddy O’Grady said: “This is a very serious incident that has left a young girl very shaken.
A 17-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed until Tuesday, February 23.
