LAWYER and All Souls College Distinguished Fellow Sir Ian Brownlie has died in a car crash in Egypt.
Sir Ian was Professor of Public International Law and Fellow of All Souls from 1980 to 1999.
He returned a Distinguished Fellow in 2004 He died aged 77 years old in Egypt on January 3.
The college flag on Oxford High Street is currently flying at half-mast.
Sir Ian was a leading international lawyer who featured in a many cases at the International Court of Justice, including proceedings featuring Chilean President Augusto Pinochet and the Nicaraguan government versus the United States.
He was knighted by The Queen last year.
