OXFORDSHIRE'S main bus operators are aiming to operate as near-normal a service as possible today but are warning passengers that there may be changes at short notice due to the risk of icy roads.
The Oxford Bus Company was operating full timetables on most of its city and long-distance services last night, with a few exceptions, due to poor road conditions.
Route 4 services were still unable to reach Dean Court and Elms Rise, in Botley, and Sandleigh Road in Woottoon and Dalton Barracks in Abingdon. Route X2 was unable to serve Basil Hill Road, in Didcot, and BrookesBus route U1 was not serving Westminster Way, in Botley, and the Harcourt Hill and Wheatley Oxford Brookes University campuses. Stagecoach Oxfordshire was last night running normal services on most of its Oxford city routes, with the exception of route 17, which was bypassing Canal Street, in Jericho, and Wren Road, in Cutteslowe.
Stagecoach's rural services were still affected by suspensions and alterations due to poor road conditions, particularly in the north and west of Oxfordshire. Passengers are advised to check the firm's website or call 01865 772250 for updates.
Thames Travel aims to run a full service on its Oxfordshire routes, with the exception of route 32, between Grove, Wantage, Didcot and Abingdon, which is still unable to serve East Hendred, Ardington, Stockham, Charlton and West Hanney. The X32 between Oxford, Didcot and the Harwell science campus is unable to serve Chilton. The 133 Goring-Reading service will only serve the Beehive/Church stop in Upper Basildon.
RH Buses plan to operate as many routes as possible, including the Oxford hospitals park-and-ride network, but rural services could still be disrupted by poor road conditions. Passengers are advised to call the firm on 01993 869100 for the latest information.
