A man was attacked by two men who tried to rob him in North Oxford.
At about 10.30pm on Monday, the man was at the junction of Godstow Road and Wolvercote roundabout, when two men came up to him and demanded he hand over his belongings.
The man tried to run away and the men assaulted him.
One of the men is white, about 6ft tall, and stocky. He was in his thirties and has dirty blonde hair with a bushy fringe. He had earrings down the length of his left ear, with hoops at the top going down to studs at the bottom, and was wearing denim jeans, brown calf length boots and a creamy white duffle coat with a fur trimmed hood The second man was black, about 6ft tall, medium build, late twenties to early thirties, with a long, thin face. He had long hair which was tied back, possibly in braids, and was wearing a tracksuit hooded top with a denim jacket over the top, jeans and white Reebok trainers.
Det Con Josie Craig said: “The men didn't manage to steal anything but the victim sustained bruising and we are keen to catch whoever is responsible.
"I urge anyone with any information that could help the police with their investigation to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Det Con Craig at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
