Police are appealing for witnesses after a young boy had his wallet snatched in Banbury.
At about 1.30pm on New Years Day, the ten-year-old boy was walking from the shops in Burchester Place via Brinkburn Grove with two friends.
As he walked along the road, he was approached by a man, who snatched his wallet out of his hand before pushing him.
The man was white, about 19 years old, with ginger hair and what is thought to be an Eastern European accent. He was wearing a striped jumper.
PC Deborah Burrell said: “Thankfully the child involved in this incident wasn’t hurt but was left shocked and distressed.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this incident and who may have seen where this man went.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Burrell via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
