District councils have issued fresh guidance on bin collections.
In South Oxfordshire, waste collections have started again where possible, although some catch-up collections are running a week behind.
That means until Monday, the opposite bin from the normal fortnightly rota may be collected. Normal service will resume next week.
Residents should leave out both bins if in doubt, and binmen will collect extra recycling left in clear sacks and carrier bags.
Food waste bins will be collected every week.
Villages or streets that cannot be accessed will be left until next week. Garden waste and bulky goods collections are suspended until Monday, January 25.
Throughout the week from 8am to 2pm, bin lorries at the Crowmarsh council offices and at the former community waste site opposite Didcot’s Sainsbury’s will take any excess waste for landfill.
In Vale of White Horse, collections are back to normal where possible.
The council has asked residents living on roads still difficult to access to put their bins next to the nearest main road.
Collections will take place throughout the weekend, and residents should leave out waste and green boxes until binmen have caught up with the backlog.
Garden waste collections will start again on Monday.
In West Oxfordshire, waste and recycling collections have re-started. Any excess refuse and recycling materials stored in bags alongside bins or boxes will be collected.
If it is recycling, residents are asked to leave the bags open.
Green waste collections are suspended.
