Bin collections will resume in Oxford for the first time in a week tomorrow if there is no more snow or ice.
The city council will begin collecting the backlog of rubbish in wheelie bins and black bags, although the collection of green and blue recycling boxes and garden waste will remain suspended.
The council has also lifted the restrictions on side waste while the backlog is cleared so residents can put out their extra refuse in sacks to be collected.
On Thursday and Friday, collections will go ahead as normal with binmen also clearing the backlog in those areas.
The missed refuse collections on Monday and Tuesday will now be take place on Saturday.
To assist collections at this difficult time the council is asking for residents to put their rubbish in more accessible areas if their street is still suffering from slippy conditions.
