Police arrested a man on a drugs charge after he was stopped in Oxford.
As part of his routine patrol, PC Paul Phillips, Neighbourhood Specialist Officer for the city centre, stopped a man who was acting suspiciously in Speedwell Street.
The man was found to be in possession of what is believed to be a class-A drug and subsequently arrested. He has been released on bail until February 19.
PC Paul Phillips said: “I hope this sends out the message to the community that we will always respond to neighbourhood concerns and take a proactive approach to catch those involved in drug dealing and drug use, both on the street and at home.
“We were carrying out routine patrols in the area when we came across a man acting suspiciously.
“The man was found to be in possession of 40 wraps of what we believe could be heroin.
“I hope that we can show the community that if you deal drugs or take drugs in Oxford then we will catch you. Drugs will not be tolerated in the area.”
