Rail passengers in Oxfordshire experienced some disruption this morning in the cold weather conditions but the majority of services are still running.
Vicki Cropper, a spokesman for First Great Western, said 80 per cent of its services ran yesterday.
She added: “Today we are working to an amended timetable because of the cold weather and customers are advised to keep checking our website.
“Trains between Oxford and Paddington are running, but there are possible delays of up to 30 minutes, and Oxford to Banbury is running to an amended timetable.”
She added that services between Oxford and Bicester Town have been suspended for the whole day.
Passengers reported that a number of FGW services between Reading and Oxford were cancelled this morning, and there are some delays on the Cotswold Line between Moreton-in-Marsh and Oxford.
Zahra Akkerhuys, a spokesman for passenger group Ox Rail Action, said she was pleased with the service provided for Oxford commuters using First Great Western trains to Paddington on Tuesday.
“There were delays and some cancellations but the staff remained calm under pressure and my journey only took 15 minutes longer than it should have done,” she said.
“The company has a fleet of diesel trains which are good at coping with the cold weather conditions.”
Chiltern is also running an emergency service between Aylesbury and Marylebone because of the snow.
