Sir – The Thornhill park-and-ride serves more places than was intended, ie London, the airports and the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Clearly they benefit from the council taxpayers in Oxfordshire, who already pay for the facilities, so why should they not contribute? We should demand that Transport for London, BAA and Oxfordshire Hospitals NHS Health Trust should stop benefiting at our expense, but make a contribution proportional to their use of the facility. Let’s have a little lateral thinking from Oxfordshire County Council for once.
