Firefighters continue to bring a blaze at a country house under control this morning.
Crews were called to a large detached house in Netherton Road, Appleton, last night after reports that its roof and first floor were ablaze.
At its peak, ten fire engines were called to the scene.
The house had a fire alarm, which activated, and the occupants evacuated and were not harmed.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire fire and rescue service said the fire was not being treated as arson.
Deputy chief fire officer Dave Etheridge said: "The fact that we managed so many movements of fire appliances around Oxfordshire last night as a result of this incident is a testament to the work that the county council's highways teams have done in keeping major routes passable despite the very trying weather conditions last night. We thank them for that."
