Major roads across Oxfordshire have been snowploughed and salted overnight and are described by the county council as "passable with care" although drivers are being advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
The southbound M40 is partially blocked by a jack-knifed lorry near to the Cherwell Valley services area.
First Great Western and Chiltern Railways are operating revised services today due to the heavy snowfall - check your train is running before setting out for the station.
FGW trains have been suspended between Oxford, Islip and Bicester Town due to the weather and Cotswold Line services are suffering delays of up to 35 minutes, after up to a a foot of snow fell in the Cotswold Hills yesterday and overnight. The 5.17am from Great Malvern to London Paddington, due to call at Oxford at 6.54am has been cancelled.
CrossCountry is planning a normal service via Oxford and Banbury, but this may be subject to short-notice alterations.
Oxford Bus Company services in and around Oxford are all badly disrupted.
Route 2 is unable to serve Kidlington, route 4 is terminating at Elms Rise, Botley, route 6 is not serving Wolvercote, route 8 cannot serve roads in the Barton estate, route 13 cannot serve roads in the Northway estate, and BrookesBus U1 cannot serve the Harcourt Hill and Wheatley campuses and Wheatley village.
A reduced service, also subject to delays due to road conditions, is operating on the X70, X80 and X90 Airline and Oxford Espress coach services.
An Oxford Bus Company spokesman said: "We hope to run a service on most of our local city routes, BrookesBus and on the park-and-ride services but we won’t be able to leave the main roads to serve the estates.
"The only exception to that is the City 5 service which is able to serve Blackbird Leys."
Stagecoach Oxforshire said that city services and the Oxford Tube to London were operating, but are subject to disruption because of road conditions. The firm's rural routes are badly disrupted due to the snowfall.
RH Transport has suspended all its services for the time being, including the Oxford hospital park-and-ride buses.
