Radley Youth 1 - Thomas Kelly Kidlington Youth 4 - Jack Morgan (2) Jack Sims, Joe Homes
Report
Radley opened the scoring in the 4th minute when Thomas Kelly tapped in at the far post. Radley thought they had scored again (7min) through Josh McGowan but his effort was ruled offside. In the 10th minute a quick break by Cameron Craig saw his shot pass inches wide, again in the 14th minute a Josh McGowan effort was cleared of the line. Radley clearly dominated main of the first half but were pegged back when an opportunist goal from Jack Sims brought the scores level. Just before half time Ryan Phipps broke clear on the left and was slightly caught by the defender and just keeping his feet his immediate shot went wide, may have been awarded a penalty if he was grounded.
The second half began in much the same vein, and in the 9 min a run down the wing set up by man of the match Tom Kelly set up another chance for Michael Lloyd who’s shot was driven wide. Radley were made to pay for not taking there chances when Jack Morgan cut in from the left and hit a superb goal to put Kidlington 2-1 up in the 13th minute. Radley still pressed and looked the more dangerous but a deflected block by Jack Morgan spun and went over the courageous stand-in keeper and into the net and gave Kidlington a 3-1 lead on 27 minutes. In the final minute a clearance from Radley was immediately hit goal bound into an open goal by Joe Homes from 30 yards out for a 4-1 result for Kidlington. The two teams had battled well and provided a good game of football for the neutral.
