Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Shiplake.
Some time between 5pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday, a property in Mill Lane, which is subject to building work, was broken into.
Det Con Georgina Bradley said: “The offenders stole building tools and items of sentimental value, including furniture and clothes.
“Two weeks prior to the burglary a man in a new silver van with black sides was seen in Mill Lane.
"The driver approached the builders working at the site and asked if they had any scrap metal. The man had an Irish accent and was aged in his forties.
“I appeal to anyone who has been approached by a man matching this description driving a van or saw somebody acting suspiciously in the village last week to contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Con Bradley via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
