A woman was treated in hospital after being attacked in Witney early today.
The assault happened in the alleyway that links The Springs and The Leys.
At about 1.30am, a 25 -ear-old woman was walking home when she was assaulted.
The victim received facial injuries and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, for treatment and has been discharged.
Det Sgt Dick White, of Witney police station, said: "The victim walked from Corn Street, along The Crofts and to the end of The Springs, which is near where she was assaulted.
"I appeal for anyone who saw the victim, or anyone acting suspiciously around this time to contact me as soon as possible."
