Hundreds of people queued to catch the first glimpse of the new Ashmolean Museum, which reopened this morning following a £61m refurbishment.
People of all ages flocked through the doors of the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, in Beaumont Street, which opened at 10am.
The new building features 39 new galleries, an education centre and rooftop restaurant.
The Ashmolean is the UK’s oldest public museum.
