HELP is at hand for people who want to get on the property ladder but cannot afford to buy a home on the open market.
The Vale of White Horse District Council is holding a Homebuyers’ Day to raise awareness of the low cost home ownership schemes operating in the area. The day will give people the opportunity to talk to housing associations, solicitors and mortgage advisers about the options they have in trying to get on the housing ladder, as well as offering the chance to find out about schemes coming up in the Vale.
Plans and designs of developments currently under construction or due to start shortly will also be on show.
Angela Lawrence, the Vale’s executive member for housing, said: “There’s a significant number of people in the district looking to make that first step on to the housing ladder, who may not be able to buy a home outright but may qualify for one of the shared ownership schemes that we run.”
The event is at the Civic Hall in Wantage on December 9, from 3-8pm. For details, visit whitehorsedc.gov.uk
