PUPILS helped solve a crime scene as they used latest technology to look for clues.
Edith Moorhouse Primary School, in Lawton Avenue, Carterton, had a visit from Pc Richard Barnes, who gave them a hands-on lesson in crime scene investigation.
The after-school class was organised by ComputerXplorers Cotswolds, which specialises in computer assisted learning for three- to 13-year-olds.
During the lesson, pupils used digital microscopes and learned about crime scene photographs.
Headteacher Wendy Atkinson said: “The children really enjoyed the exciting experience as it is something completely different from anything we offer in school.”
Over the course of six classes, pupils learned how to examine fingerprints and hair samples, use digital microscopes and examine a scene of crime.
They also discovered how studying a photograph of a crime scene can give police vital clues, learned the importance of the quality of forensic photography and how the scene must be shot from many angles to tell the whole story.
