Two men are being questioned today after a robbery at a Didcot bookmakers.
At about 7pm yesterday, a man walked into Stan James Bookmakers, in Wantage Road, and threatened a member of staff, demanding that they hand over cash.
Det Con Dominique Roffey said: “The man claimed to have a weapon inside a bag and told the woman to hand over cash. He stole around £3,000 and then left the bookmakers.
“I appeal to anyone who was in this area of Didcot yesterday evening and saw anybody acting suspiciously to contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Con Roffey via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
