THIS gushing fountain is not the latest ornamental feature to appear in the middle of Oxford.
The 15ft jet of water was caused by a burst main in Littlemore Road, close to its junction with Crowell Road in Cowley.
The spectacular sight caused a hazard for cyclists and motorists, who had to dodge the fast-flowing spray, but proved an inviting opportunity for Oxford Mail photographer Antony Moore. He captured the scene today as workmen repaired the pipe, which is thought to have cracked in the recent cold weather.
