A 46-year-old man was sentenced to 15 months in prison today after admitting possessing class-A drugs with intent to supply.
Richard Wildman, of Cornish Road, Chipping Norton, was stopped by officers in the same road on July 16 as part of Operation Jupe, a crackdown on the supply of drugs in the town.
Wildman was found to be in possession of more than 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroine when he was searched.
Appearing at Oxford Crown Court this morning, Wildman pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of class-A drugs with intent to supply and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Det Sgt Craig Kirby said: “This result shows that we are committed to tackling drugs in our rural communities “I would like to thank the people living in Chipping Norton that came forward and gave us the information to support this operation.
“This sentence sends out a clear message that drugs and the supplying of drugs will not be tolerated and those caught can expect a custodial sentence.”
