With the MP’s expenses scandal still making headlines and with a general election in the not to distant future, here are a few points people (including past, present and future MPs) should think about.
To claim expenses for interest on a mortgage that does not exist is fraud and should be punished accordingly.
Also, and more importantly, every MP, whether they claimed expenses or not, knew exactly what was going on just as they all know the code of conduct for MP’s.
You must remember these are the people we have entrusted to run the country and spend taxpayers’ money wisely and looking at how some have abused this trust, how can they attempt to run anything.
People need to be very careful who they vote for in the future and remember they are not just voting for an individual but also party.
