I refer to your article “Frugal Trade Shuts Store” (Oxford Mail, October 12).
The proprietress says the biggest factor in the closure is the lack of short-term parking in Abingdon. She’s right.
Shop after shop closes for the same reason.
Whereas similar-sized towns all over the county, Didcot and Witney for example, have short-term parking, we in Abingdon have a LibDem council.
They are opposed to the motor car with a fervour bordering on insanity.
I’m sad for Frugal Foods, but I wonder how many of their disappointed customers vote LibDem.
Every time one puts a cross against a LibDem candidate’s name, one is voting for shop closures.
