A MASKED robber armed with a meat cleaver threatened staff at a painting and decorating firm in Oxford during an early morning raid.
Police are appealing for help in tracing the robber who struck at Jones and Reeves Painting Contractors, in All Saints Road, Headington, at 7am today.
Wearing a mask and brandishing a meat cleaver, the robber walked into the office, which is opposite All Saints Church, threatened staff and stole cash.
Det Sgt Matt Jarman, of Oxford robbery team, said: “The offender is described as around 5ft 10in and was wearing a black mask and a camouflage jacket.
“The victim handed over cash to him and then he fled the building.”
Neighbour Robert Killey, 68, said: “Sadly it’s becoming part of everyday life. Headington used to be such a nice place to live.”
Police would not reveal how much cash was stolen.
