POLICE are investigating whether an attempted robbery in Chalgrove is connected to a violent burglary in the village.
A man was pushed from behind as he walked past the memorial gardens in High Street some time between midnight and 12.30am on Monday.
The robber tried to steal the man's MP3 player, but the victim broke free and ran off.
The would-be thief was about 5ft 10in to 6ft, of slim build and was wearing a black baseball cap and a black zip-up hooded top with ‘Schott’ written on it, with dark blue jeans and white Adidas trainers.
At about 7pm on Monday a masked burglar threatened Jeffrey and Sandra Lockyer with a machete in their home, at Bower End, and stole gold rings and a bracelet.
Dc Dominique Roffey, of Thames Valley Police, said: “I'm keeping an open mind as to whether this is linked to a burglary that happened in the area on the same day and following up every line of inquiry.”
Anyone with information should call Dc Roffey on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
