AN OXFORD church is handing out new clothes and shoes to deprived families and refugees.
The Word Fountain Christian Ministries, in Hollow Way, Cowley, will open its doors every Wednesday between 2pm and 6pm to allow people to make use of its new clothing centre.
The church has teamed up with the Red Cross, which receives end-of-line clothes from budget chain Primark, and Oxford refugee charities Asylum Welcome and Refugee Resource, to launch the project.
Pastor Dupe Adefala said it was part of the church’s mission to become a haven for those in need and more of a force in the community.
She added: “We will be opening our doors to people of all ages, race and colour who are underprivileged and need some clothes for themselves or their family.
“The Red Cross will provide people with vouchers which they will come to us with.”
