A KNIFE-wielding burglar threatened a couple in their own home.
The masked man walked into a house in Bower End, Chalgrove, while brandishing a knife in each hand at about 6pm yesterday.
He grabbed the woman and demanded her 60-year-old husband handed over money and jewellery.
The husband gave him four gold rings and a gold bracelet and the knifeman ran out of the house.
He had his face covered and was wearing dark clothing.
Det Sgt Alan Clements said “This is a particularly distressing incident where both residents have been left shocked and were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.
“The burglar left the house on foot but could have had a vehicle parked nearby. I appeal to anyone who might have seen a vehicle in the area at the time, to get in touch.
“Although I would like to reassure residents that this is an isolated incident, I need anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to contact me.”
The 60-year-old man was not physically injured but remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
