Supermarket collections, house-to house collections and coffee mornings are just a few of the ways money is raised for the Poppy Appeal in Oxfordshire.
Poppies are mainly produced in a factory in Richmond in Surrey before they are boxed up and sent to poppy appeal organisers, along with collecting tins.
Boxes of poppies are left in places like shops, waiting rooms, pubs and garages by volunteers.
In more rural areas, volunteers go house-to-house.
There are more than 3,000 volunteers working across the county to collect money for the RBL and 87 registered appeal organisers.
The RBL has 50 branches in Oxfordshire, six clubs and just less than 5,000 members around the region.
There are also 11 branches of the Royal British Legion Women’s Section.
Community fundraiser Peter Boyle said: “We couldn’t do it without the volunteers. I hope this year people will be as generous as their pockets allow them to be.”
