SO the ‘Prince of Darkness’ Peter Mandelson, twice thrown out of New Labour and elected by nobody, states the post workers are “being un-cooperative”.
Is this the same Mandelson who stated a few months ago that the Royal Mail bosses were “incapable of creating an effective industrial relations environment”.
The overpaid Royal Mail executives have stolen more than £10m in so-called performance related bonuses. And that is in an industry that has been struggling, in an effort to reform and modernise.
Mandelson himself, has been reported as earning more than £100,000, while our poor old posties get an average of £16,000.
Remember the bankers’ bonuses? I wonder if this dispute has anything to do with the postal union’s recent victory against privatisation.
Anyone could install modern machinery and make personnel cuts, but this is about taking on the postal unions.
The media campaign has been vicious in its support for the likes of Mr Mandelson and Mr Crozier, the chief executive of Royal Mail.
The Tories can also be expected to attack the posties, if they come to power.
If people were given the facts about our posties, most would support them, instead of believing a cynical campaign to smear another group of hard working people, trying to fight for our postal service & their pensions and benefits.
