WOODSTOCK is getting arty during a week-long festival.
Art in Woodstock, which runs until Sunday, November 1, involves a host of exhibitions, along with talks and events.
The festival is launched today in the Town Square, with an opening performance of The Blue Danube on kazoos at noon.
Children from Woodstock Primary School will be the first to make their artistic impressions on Smart car-shaped cut-outs, supplied by Mercedes-Benz.
The cut-outs will remain on display all week, and visitors will be encouraged to paint on them.
Work by visiting professional artists and local talent will also be displayed, including artist, writer and composer Tom Phillips, who will exhibit in the Henmans Gallery at the Oxfordshire Museum.
More art will be displayed in spaces around the town, including The Gallery at The Marlborough Grill, in shops, churches, and restaurants.
There will be a programme of workshops for children and adults and a series of talks from speakers including Mike Stanley, the new director of Modern Art Oxford, among other events.
Chris Baylis, chairman of Wake up to Woodstock, said: “This is our third year – we feel we have achieved so much. From a standing start to last year’s festival which hosted over 70 artists in 27 venues around the town, we are proud of Art in Woodstock.”
Tonight, there will be a free screening of film Mamma Mia, at 7.30pm in the Town Square.
