A 19-year-old man was last night in custody in connection with a string of shop burglaries.
Three men forced their way inside Budgens, in High Street, Burford, at about 3am today and stole alcohol.
Forty minutes later men were spotted trying to break into Budgens, in Marlborough Street, Faringdon.
Police chased a getaway car through Oxfordshire to Lambourn, south of Wantage, where three men got out of the car and fled across fields near the M4 motorway.
Police believe the raids are linked to a burglary in Shrivenham on Sunday, where three offenders forced their way into the One Stop shop, in the High Street, and made off in an Audi car stolen from Sussex.
