A 34-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Oxfordshire mum Vikki Thompson 14 years ago.
Police arrested the man in a dawn raid in Ascott-under-Wychwood yesterday and he was held in police custody overnight.
He has now been charged with murder and is due to appear at Oxford Crown Court today.
Vikki Thompson, 30, was attacked near her home in Ascott-under-Wychwood while walking her dog on August 12 1995.
She died from her injuries six days later.
A new investigation into the death was launched by Thames Valley Police Major Crime Review Team.
Detective Superintendent Barry Halliday said: “The review of such cases is not a new concept by Thames Valley Police, this is one of a number of cases being progressed by the MCRT and our communities and neighbourhoods can be assured all unresolved cases remain open and are subject to careful regular review by Major Crime detectives.”
