Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Yarnton in which a man died.
Police said at about 8.15pm yesterday a white Ford Fiesta collided with a pedestrian who was lying in the middle of the A44, near to The Turnpike public house.
The pedestrian, a 58-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
Sgt Pete Jell, who is leading the investigation into the collision, said: “We are still trying to establish the chain of events that has led to this man ending up in the middle of the road.
"It might be that he had been hit by another vehicle prior to this collision, but at the moment we are investigating all possibilities.
“I would like to hear from anyone that may have been in the area around 8pm and may have seen this man walking along the road.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Sgt Pete Jell at Bicester Roads Policing base via 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to talk to police or leave your name, please contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
