SUE Gillman had just sat down for a cup of tea when a car smashed into her house.

But before the 63-year-old, from Radley, could get up, the car, which was being driven by a woman with another female in the passenger seat, drove off.

Neighbours think it may have been a learner driver out practising.

Mrs Gillman, a retired council administrator, has been told the wall, which was cracked in the smash, could cost £10,000 to repair.

Police last night appealed for help in finding the driver.

Mrs Gillman, of Gooseacre, said: “I was just sitting down on my own in the living room, drinking a cup of tea, when I heard a loud bang.

“I was scared because I didn’t know what had happened. By the time I got up, they had driven off.

“My neighbour said she had seen what looked like a mother and daughter in the car.

“She said it looked like the daughter was behind the wheel and they were practising driving as we live in a cul-de-sac.

“Suddenly the car just shot forward and crashed into the side of my house and left a massive crack.

“The ‘mum’ switched with the ‘daughter’ and they drove off.”

Mrs Gillman, who lives with her husband Tony said the incident happened on Thursday, October 8, at about 5.30pm.

The younger woman is described as having dark hair, while the older woman was blonde. They were driving a small, silver car.

Mrs Gillman said: “I’m too much of a lady to say what I think of these people. It could’ve been very serious.”

Police spokesman Andy Heath said: “We’re anxious to find who is responsible for this. If you saw what happened or have any information then please contact us.”

Witnesses should call Pc Tony Lee on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
