THESE are exciting times for Witney.
A revamp of the Woolgate Shopping Centre is set to start on Monday – just days before the new Marriotts Close development opens.
Witney is fast becoming an attractive place to shop.
With stores like Marks and Spencer and Debenhams set to open soon, ample free parking and none of the fuss associated with driving into Oxford, is it any wonder so many people are driving down the A40 to do their shopping?
In fact, Oxford should be green with envy. Witney is a car-friendly town and, as these projects demonstrate, a place where building schemes run to schedule. While we wait with bated breath for news on when – or if – the revamp of the crumbling Westgate Centre will start, work continues apace in Witney.
