Two men and a 16-year-old boy were arrested and given Fixed Penalty Notices of £80, after a public order incident in Witney.
Officers were called to the Market Square in the early hours of Sunday after CCTV operators alerted them to a group of men involved in an altercation.
On arrival at the scene, officers quickly broke-up the disturbance and arrested the two men involved, both aged 20, and the teenager.
Insp Mark Johns said: “We were immediately notified about the incident by our CCTV controllers and officers attended the scene and robustly policed the incident.
“Several arrests were made and a number of people were dispersed from the area. This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated in Witney.
“As part of our on-going Night Safe operation, we are rigorously monitoring the town’s night time economy to ensure that people can safely enjoy an evening out.
“Further arrests in relation to this incident are anticipated and I would also urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and talk to us.”
