Police this evening appealed for witnesses after a teenager was robbed at knifepoint in the University Parks, Oxford.
At around 3.15pm on Saturday, an 18-year-old man and his two friends were sat near to the cricket pavilion in the parks in Parks Road, when four teenagers started to throw things at them.
Following a verbal argument one of the teenagers approached them and threatened one of them with a pen knife.
He was told to hand over what was in his bag which he did. The offender then ran off, stealing beer and cash.
Det Sgt Matt Jarman, of Oxford’s Robbery Team, said: “I appeal to anyone who was in University Parks on Saturday afternoon and saw the incident take place to contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Sgt Jarman via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
