Police today appealed for witnesses after two women were robbed in Oxford last Thursday.

At about 12.38pm, a 20-year-old woman was walking along St Aldates, when she noticed a woman following her. The woman threatened the victim with a knife and demanded that she buy her a drink.

The victim agreed to buy the woman a drink and the woman then wandered off.

The woman is white, in her fifties, has light coloured hair and was wearing a pale coat.

At 5.45pm on Thursday, a 20-year-old woman was outside the Co-operative Store in Old Marston Road, when a man came up to her and threatened her. The woman handed over £30 and the man the cycled away on a black bicycle in the direction of Croft Road.

The man is white and was wearing black clothing.

Det Sgt Matt Jarman said: “There were a few people around at that time of these robberies happened and I urge anyone with any information that could help the police with their investigations to get in touch.”
