Bloxham Mill Business Centre is nearing the completion of a £250,000 data centre which will house its IT and telecoms business bm-it.
The firm aims to provide high quality, low cost location and off-site back-up to businesses in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, the West Midlands, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.
Colin Deamer, bm-it sales director, said: “Demand for data centres is accelerating due to the rapid and continued growth of e-business.
“Bloxham Mill Business Centre is home to more than 47 businesses which range from recruitment companies to an international gaming design company.
“They all have one thing in common — a need to ensure that their database and computer records are kept in a completely safe and secure environment.”
The bm-it data centre will house customer servers from a variety of business types. Its features include: o Seven separate bespoke air conditioning systems o Multi-carrier high bandwidth Internet connection from top tier suppliers o A business continuity suite for unplanned emergencies o A high capacity back-up diesel generator o An on-site IT team Mr Deamer added: “Second to its employees, a firm’s data is probably its most valuable asset, yet many businesses have no data protection whatsoever in place, let alone a disaster recovery plan.
“We are offering the facility to test those disaster plans.”
