Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Marsh Road, Cowley, in the early hours of Monday.
At about midnight, a 23-year-old man had just got off a bus and was walking home when he noticed that two people were behind him.
A man grabbed his arms while a woman went through his pockets, stealing his mobile phone and wallet.
The victim chased the man and woman and a member of public also stopped and assisted, managing to retrieve the stolen belongings.
The woman was aged between 16 and 20, white, about 5ft 3in tall and large build. She had dark hair which is level with her ear and died blonde and was wearing hooped silver earrings, a dark jumper and dark trousers.
The man was of a similar age, white, medium build and has short mousey coloured hair. He is about 6ft 2in tall and was wearing a hooded top, dark trousers and dark trainers.
Det Con Steve Martin said: “Fortunately the man wasn’t injured and managed to get his belongings back but I am still keen to catch whoever is responsible.
“The man and woman were last seen going into Agnes Court and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the offence to get in touch.”
