It was Abingdon that came out eventual winners on a cold and blustery Saturday morning, at Gooseacre, against an on form Radley side. AYFC shot out of the blocks quickest and stunned Radley with an early opener. Alex Woodham`s inch perfect cross found the unmarked Billy Wilson who finished well. Two second half goals from Alex Woodham and a Radley reply from Henrique saw the first game finish 3-1.
The second game saw Radley pin AYFC into their own half for the majority of the match. Some nervy but gritty defending from Abingdon couldn't stop Radley from taking the lead through a strike from Lewis Price-Cook. Both AYFC keepers played brilliantly throughout and kept Abingdon in the game. Radley hit the post twice and all but a great display from Alex Carter in goal would have seen Radley score more. Fortunatley for AYFC though their grit and determination kept the score 1-0. AYFC win overall 3-2.
