As we welcome Childrey to the Bullcroft it was apparent that it was going to be an up hill challenge for the Crows. Due to illness and holidays they only had 10 men but never the less the boys seemed in determined mood and up for the challenge ahead. They started much the brighter of the two teams and were first to every ball pushing Childrey onto the back foot and never letting them settle on the ball. This was the story of the first half with not a chance for either side as the well organised Crows defence stood tall and Childrey just could not find a way though.
In the second half the Crows were much the same as the first, with real determination, grit and teamwork and all putting in 100%. The 10 men Crows though strong in the midfield seamed to be out numbered in attack but did have a few half chances and David Wilcox’s was unlucky not to score from a corner when he beat the Childrey goalie to the ball only for his effort to go just past the post. It was Childrey that had the best chance of the game 5 minutes from time when they worked the ball to Harry Denton whose shot on goal flashed past the post with the goal at his mercy. With due regard to all circumstances a point for both sides was a fair reflection of all the effort and determination put into this game.
