Kidlington prosper underneath the Archies
Kidlington just edged out Littlemore in two very close matches. The overall difference came down to two great saves from home keeper Archie Devlin in the first game - the first a brilliant penalty stop and the second a diving effort to claw away a great long range shot that was destined for the top corner. Name sake Archie Littlewood also made a couple of great last ditch tackles in the home defence as well as providing the pass from which Kidlington hot-shot Luca Sykes scored the only goal of a tight match, to leave Kidlington leading 1-0 after the first game
The second game was more open, with Kidlington on top for much of the first half before a battling Littlemore came back strongly in the second half. Ben Stewart opened the scoring for the home team with a spectacular long range shot after good work by Callum Rolfe. Rolfe, Ben Owen and Marcus Tranter all went close before two goals from Shea Sturgess either side of half time turned the game on its head. The first was a great long-range effort whilst the second a more opportunist strike after the home defence had failed to clear, leaving Littlemore 2-1 up. Undeterred however, the home team fought back and equalised in a brilliant move involving Stewart, Rolfe and Owen which was finished by the hard-working Tranter supporting well from the midfield. Midfield dynamo Stewart set up Rolfe who finished coolly for Kidlington's third, completing a 3-2 home victory in the second game, giving Kidlington a 4-2 aggregate win.
