A WOMAN who caused the death of a west Oxfordshire pensioner and seriously injured her daughter in a car crash was this morning jailed for 18 months.
Deborah Hodson, 47, drove her Land Rover Discovery, which was towing a horse box, into the side of 74-year-old Margaret Slatter and her 49-year-old daughter Diane.
The incident, which occurred on August 23 last year at the crossroads on the B4437 at the junction of the A361, near Burford, killed Mrs Slatter and left her daughter with permanent injuries.
Hodson, of Alvescot Road, Black Bourton, near Bampton, had earlier admitted causing death by careless driving, but was found guilty at Oxford Crown Court of causing death by dangerous driving.
The Slatters, of Manor Farm, Kingham, had been returning from a shopping trip in Witney.
