YET again, the councils have inflicted unjust fines and removal of facilities on the disabled.
Hardly a week passes without this newspaper reporting some poor disabled citizen who has had to endure the wrath of a discriminatory council department badly handling situations that could have been avoided if common sense had prevailed.
The councils have a history of inconsiderations towards the disabled folk.
First it was said shoppers should use mobility scooters to move around the city centre. Then it was closing disabled toilets. Now it seems it’s the disabled motorists’ turn by suspending disabled parking bays. Or is this an underhand action simply to raise more revenue through issuing fines at every opportunity.
Being a member of various disabled organisations, I therefore ask any disabled person who feels they have been unfairly treated to contact me so a petition of complaint can be democratically processed.
