Police are appealing for information after two houses were burgled in Faringdon.

Between 2am and 2.30am on Monday, a house in Century Close was burgled and an iPod was stolen.

During the same period, another house was burgled in Berner’s Way and a digital camera was stolen.

PC Maria Morrisey said: “On both occasions the thieves got into the properties through insecure ground floor windows.

“I would like to take this opportunity to remind residents that most thieves are opportunist, and to always ensure that windows and doors are secure when you aren’t in the room.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to contact the police.”

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact PC Morrisey at Abingdon police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
