With the Autumn days now gradually drawing in it is time to lay in some stocks of wine for the new season that will go with richer foods like stews, casseroles and game. This mixed case contains a variety of full ripe wines that will warm you up and complement the season’s dishes. Cheers!
The Wines for Autumn case costs £79 and includes three bottles each of the following four wines.
Hidden Rock Petit Verdot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Australia: This blend of two classic Bordeaux grape varieties has strong and vibrant dark berry characteristics and is both wonderfully rich and crisp in style.
Vida Organica Sangiovese/Bonarda 2008, Argentina: Made with organically grown grapes, this Italian influenced wine is full of ripe red berry fruit notes and touches of white pepper spice —lovely.
Estampa Carmenere/Merlot 2007, Chile: Originally mistaken for Merlot in Chile’s vineyards the Carmenere grape variety has now become the county’s signature grape giving this wine classic blackberry and rich chocolate characteristics.
Luccetti Salento Negromano 2007, Italy: Made with negromano grapes from the Apulia region, this wine has complex rich fruit and a long velvety aromatic finish — ideal with most rich foods and stews in particular.
