Sir – Despite severe financial cutbacks, the Museum of Oxford has remained open this year with a skeleton staff assisted by a team of volunteer helpers.

It has an exciting programme of events leading up to Christmas.

Nevertheless, the museum’s long-term future is still uncertain, and Stuart Davies Associates as consultants are preparing a report assessing the various options.

An open meeting to hear their preliminary ideas and offer further suggestions will be held at the Town Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 7. We hope that those who care about the museum’s future will attend and make their views known.
